Where There's Smoke, There's Fire

The Volcano is a unique specialty effect that literally blows perfect smoke rings. The device is based upon the age old concept of smoke ring creation. Fill a chamber with smoke, whack it quickly through a round opening and watch the smoke rings glide across the room. The perfectly shaped rings will travel slowly up to 500 feet and will retain their form as they disperse.

The Volcano has been used for several attractions as well as a novelty item at trade shows and nightclubs. The fixture can be mounted on a pan and tilt yoke and can be used to fire the harmless smoke rings at unsuspecting patrons. The result is the utmost fascination and delight.

The Volcano can also provide a realistic "Canon" simulation and has been used to great success at the Alamo Exhibit in Texas where the producers claim it is the hit of the exhibit. In another project on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California, the Volcano was used without the smoke to create a ghostly directional puff of air. The effect emulates a ghost passing by in the reportedly haunted engine room.

The device can be actuated manually or via a DMX or MIDI controlled dry contact. A small smoke machine is attached to the unit to provide smoke for the chamber. The 3 feet, cubed unit is constructed of fiberglass with a steel frame and is yoke mounted.
